Řada vozů je továrně vybavená vzduchovým podvozkem, který často umožňuje změnu světlé výšky podle zvoleného jízdního režimu. Senzorové tyčky umožňují na mechanickém základu (bez zásahu do elektroniky podvozku) upravit světlou výšku vozu změnou délky tyček. Jedná se tak o jednoduchou a finančně nenáročnou úpravu, která navíc nemá žádný vliv na další funkce podvozku a nevyžaduje kalibraci nebo jinou softwarovou změnu.
